For alumni: a community of giving

SFU thrives with the help of our amazing donors. With their generous support, our future alumni can reach their potential and use their talents to make a real difference: researchers can tackle some of the biggest challenges facing people and the planet; and communities here and around the globe can benefit from collaboration and innovation.

Ways To Give

Annual alumni campaign

We reach out to you, our alumni, through the mail and by phone with a request; please make a donation to help the students who need it most.

It’s no secret that the Lower Mainland is one of the most expensive places in Canada to live, let alone be a student. The cost of rent, food, transportation, tuition and textbooks can be overwhelming. And with the recent affordable housing crisis, this year is going to be one of the hardest. Many students have more than one part-time job to make ends meet. Finding the time to focus on studying can be a serious challenge.

“Words cannot describe the appreciation I have for SFU's donors. When I received my award, it was a turning point. Rather than working full-time, I was able to go part-time and make school my number one priority. My stress level went down and my grades improved. The road to graduation was long, but I made it…with your help. Thank you!” - Rajvir, BA '16

You understand the issues our students face better than anyone. You were once here, trying to find your way. Please give a helping hand. 100% of your donation goes directly to student support.

Give to the alumni scholarship and bursary endowment

Today, SFU can provide donor-funded awards to only 30% of the eligible students who apply. But you can help change that. Donate today and give critical support to students who would not otherwise be able to afford a university education. Additionally, recognize outstanding students and reward them for their hard work.
