Gifts from the U.S.

Friends of Simon Fraser University (Friends of SFU) was established as a charitable organization and registered in Bellingham, State of Washington as exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Charitable gifts received by the Friends of SFU are directed to Simon Fraser University according to the donor’s designation, and a United States charitable gift tax receipt is issued. The employer identification number EIN is: 91-6174832. You can find Friends of SFU on the IRS website through our name or the unique EIN number at https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/.

You can still make tax-deductible donations if you are a SFU graduate or an immediate family member of one of our graduates and use your Canadian tax receipts for income tax filing purposes.

U.S. donors can give through Friends of Simon Fraser University by a cheque, bank draft, wire transfer or publicly traded stocks and securities. 

 

For information on giving through a cheque or a bank draft:

  • Make your donation payable to the Friends of Simon Fraser University.
  • Include a memo note or letter with your gift advising that a contribution is made to the Friends of Simon Fraser University specifying the designation or purpose of the gift.  
  • Mail your donations and correspondence directly to the following address:
