Indigenous Student Bursary Endowment

First Peoples' Gathering House

Across the country, Indigenous students are bringing knowledge, resilience, and powerful voices to every corner of our communities—but systemic and historical injustices, coupled with high costs of living, make pursuing a postsecondary education challenging, and even impossible.

Inequities in educational outcomes for Indigenous peoples, resulting from the residential school system, still exist today. As recently as 2021, only 16% of Indigenous Census respondents hold a university degree, compared to 36% for the overall population (Statistics Canada, 2021).

By giving to the Indigenous Student Bursary, a dedicated fund to support Indigenous students who demonstrate financial need and academic commitment, you are meaningfully contributing to Reconciliation and removing barriers so they can focus on what truly matters: learning, growing, thriving, and dreaming big.

Indigenous students are future leaders, knowledge-keepers, educators, artists, and innovators looking to make the world a better place. By making a gift to the Indigenous Student Bursary Endowment, you will inspire them to use their talents to shape a brighter future for all.
