Establish a student award
Put simply, without donor support, some students could not attend SFU. Whether you’re investing in an award that will be offered annually or in perpetuity, you’re making an investment in the leaders who will change our world for the better. Help us turn today’s demands into tomorrow’s plans for a brighter future.
Creating an endowment
An endowment is a large lump sum gift that is held by SFU. The investment income generated each year is used to support the award in perpetuity, so you can rest assured that your gift will keep on giving well into the future. With an endowment, you can build a legacy of support that spans generations by providing stable, dependable funding.
Currently, the minimum requirement to set up a new endowment at SFU is $40,000 for undergraduate or graduate scholarships, awards or bursaries.

Creating an annual award
An annual award can make a short-term, but significant impact. As a donor, you may wish to fund a student award for a fixed period of time to help alleviate the financial pressures of attending university. Currently, an annual award can be created with a gift of $2,000 or more per year for five years
