- About us
- Give now
If you would like to help our future alumni succeed, consider creating—or contributing to—an award, bursary or endowment—it is an excellent opportunity to make a big impact while giving directly to students, programs and experiences.
Student support comes in many forms
As diverse as your philanthropic interests are, so are the backgrounds and passions of our students. That’s why you can fund learning in any faculty or department through bursaries, awards, scholarships and endowments.
- Bursaries provide financial support to students demonstrating financial need.
- Awards recognize outstanding academic, athletic or community achievements.
- Scholarships recognize outstanding academic achievement.
- An endowment is a larger sum of money that is held by SFU and only the investment income generated each year by the endowment is used to support the award.
By choosing to come to SFU, our students are making a conscious choice to attend a community engaged, research intensive university. To ensure that they continue to have world-class experiences, you can support a fund that is dedicated to preparing students for the real world and real-world impact.
By intentionally joining SFU’s exceptional research community, students have the opportunity to contribute to effect social and economic change. They are also able to pursue hands-on, community engaged learning opportunities through experiences like studying abroad and participating in field schools.
Thanks to donors like you, we can enable these curious thinkers to grow and create lasting change within our communities.

"I'm truly humbled by the community's belief in my potential and their comitment to investing in the education of students like me. This generosity serves as a beacon of hope...reminding me of the impact individuals can have on the lives of others." Joaquin Saurez, BA 2023
