Are you interested in talking to alumni and building support for SFU? Then we have the perfect job for you! We accept student fundraiser applications a few times per year for the SFU Annual Giving Engagement Centre.
The low down: You’ll be calling alumni and asking for donations to support food security or student mental health.
What’s in it for you?
- Receive paid, professional tele-fundraising training.
- Strengthen communication and leadership skills.
- Meet cool people in an upbeat and fun environment.
- Learn how to handle rejection.
- Build persuasion skills.
- Learn how to have engaging conversations, and so much more!
What you need:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Fantastic telephone manners.
- Positive, enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
- Ability to work individually and as a team member.
- Must be residing in the Lower Mainland.
When you work:
You are expected to work at least two shifts per week. Shifts are available on:
- Sundays: 2-6 p.m.
- Mondays to Thursdays: 5-9 p.m.
Prior to your first shift, you will be required to attend a mandatory training session. The date of training will be determined during the interview process.
What you're paid:
$ 18.30/hour (after a probationary period)

How we hire:
Round 1: In-person group interview. If you qualify, this is your opportunity to show us why you would be a great candidate for this position.
Round 2: Phone interview. Since 99% of this job is on the phone, we'll be evaluating your communication, attitude, tone and volume. We will provide an interview package beforehand for you to prepare.
