SFU professor, Ker Wells, passed away on August 30, 2019. He was a dear colleague and friend who had an innate passion for acting, performance and teaching. 

Ker was known to be entertaining and gracious. If he was your host, he made you feel like you were at the best dinner party. He always dedicated himself physically and emotionally to everything he did. 

Everywhere Ker went, he consistently made lifelong connections and left a legacy behind. After discovering theatre and performance, Ker became a founding member of the Primus Theatre in Winnipeg. He then went on to form the Number Eleven Theatre in Toronto where he directed productions and collaborated with other actors. In 2015, Ker co-founded the outdoor River Clyde, an annual and beloved summer performance event held in Prince Edward Island.

After receiving his masters of fine arts, Ker was hired as a professor at SFU, where he found a community of like-minded individuals. 

Ker's artistic influence transformed the lives of his students and performers that he encountered. He made an incredible impact on the SFU community.
