Irv's friends, family, and colleagues are invited to join together to raise funds for the Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific Endowment at SFU. Each fall, the endowment supports an entrance award for an outstanding Haida Gwaii high school student. Irv was a tireless advocate for the Scholarship and your gift will honour his many years of dedication and service to the cause.

A Life Is Only Complete with Philanthropy
As Chairperson of the Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific, Irv Ridd was very passionate about providing post-secondary education to the students in Haida Gwaii and Hawaii. For the past 21 years, Irv and the board of the Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific have awarded numerous post-secondary scholarships enabling students to pursue careers without any financial burdens. He believed in offering life changing opportunities to youth that may not have had the opportunities for further education and will one day make a difference in our world.
Irv was ardent about his love for the Pacific Ocean and concerned about the health of Marine Life – always hoping that with this opportunity we could move towards a more sustainable future. He was extremely pleased to have had the opportunity to endow funds at Simon Fraser University so that he could ensure the opportunities to change a community from within would go on in perpetuity.
