The Data-Intensive Systems Lab Fund helps supports the Data-Intensive Systems research lab at SFU, which works on transactional and analytical systems on modern hardware, new programming paradigms and support for emerging applications. The lab also contributes to related areas such as synchronization, operating systems and distributed systems while solving database systems problems.
Support from donors like you will go towards various areas of the operations of the lab such as lab events, hosting visitors, internal/external meeting costs and event travel costs for students. Additionally, your generosity will help upgrade research equipment and purchase software and hardware services.
The lab’s work has made direct impacts on the tech industry and academia, by helping large-scale systems built by major tech companies perform correct and efficient data analytics and transactions, and maintaining open-source prototypes that are free for the community to use.
