Year-end food security campaign raises record dollars for SFU

Thanks to the immense generosity of donors and friends like you, SFU’s 2023 year-end giving campaign yielded a monumental $143,923 this past December. A heartfelt thank you to SFU’s incredible donor community who truly made a difference in the lives of our students!

Result highlights:

  • $143,923 total raised
  • 608 gifts total
  • $45,358 toward the Food Security Program Fund*
  • Numerous gifts also raised thousands of dollars toward student scholarships, awards and bursaries, as well as initiatives that support climate action, sustainability, and health and well-being.

With SFU providing matching funds for donations made to the Food Security Program Fund, we were able to double our impact and collectively address the critical issue of food security on our campuses. Support from SFU’s donor community provides students in need with low-barrier, judgement-free access to emergency grocery gift cards—a lifeline for undergraduate and graduate students grappling with the ever-increasing costs of living.

More than the sum of dollars and cents, these impressive results for our year-end campaign demonstrate the powerful and positive difference we can make when we work together. Thank you again to everyone who gave generously to support vital initiatives across SFU!
