Jeremy was of the most endearing kind of human. Caring, real, supportive… in our first conversation ever, I told him - as a single mother - that I couldn’t afford to take this program unless it would lead to a better job…. He gave me a leg up once the program was done, and offered me some contract work to support some of the work he was doing, and so began a great friendship! It feels like such a loss to the wider community, my heart goes out to all those he was close to.

Jeremy was a thoughtful and inspiring leader and person. I remember as an MBA intern joining Ecotrust Canada I was warned by Jeremy (my direct manager at the time) to not wear collared shirts. My Greek English kicked in and I thought he meant no dress shirts. I show up with a collared shirt (not a dress shirt) for my first day and I still remember his larger-than-life laugh. Getting to learn about his life story, his contributions to his home region in New Orleans, his Peace Corps tenure in Mongolia, and firsthand his care for Economic Development in First Nations and remote communities across BC and beyond was such a highlight and inspiration during our time together. Jeremy will be missed by many.
