The Trottier Observatory and Science Courtyard is a spectacular facility featuring a 0.7-metre telescope capable of tracking distant galaxies billions of years old. When you support programs at the Observatory, you’re inspiring an astronomical sense of wonder in children.
The Observatory provides a permanent home to Starry Nights @ SFU, a free community program that includes evening stargazing parties and daytime telescope and astronomy workshops for children and youth.
The general public, children and amateur astronomers are invited to discover the many wondrous celestial objects that can be seen by the naked eye, including our cratered moon, colourful stars, ancient constellations and varied planets.
