Selected highlights

Since 2005, FHS faculty have secured over $227 million in research funding and is home to numerous exceptional individuals driving change in health research, policy, and education, including people like: 

• Meghan Winters, the CIHR Applied Public Health Chair in Gender and Healthy Cities who is leading interdisciplinary and intersectoral teams across Canada working on healthy cities.
• Associate professor Travis Salway, whose work to improve 2S/LGBTQ health earned him the CIHR Early Career Trailblazer Award.
• Stuart Peacock, Leslie Diamond Chair in Cancer Survivorship, who is transforming equitable cancer care and quality of life for survivors.
• Stephanie Cleland, the Legacy for Airway Health Chair, whose data-driven collaborative research investigates how climate change-related issues like wildfires or extreme heat are impacting human health.

FHS students benefit from a robust learning environment, including our Student Commons, a hub for collaboration and community-building. In addition, experiential learning is a growing and vital facet of our students’ journeys, with co-op placements growing from just five in 2007 to nearly 2,000 in 2024.

FHS alumni include changemakers like Natalie Kinloch, a Vanier scholar and Governor General’s Gold Medal recipient whose doctoral research is advancing our understanding of HIV diversity and informing vaccine development.
