Celebrate the SFU Graduate Liberal Studies Program's 30th Anniversary

In spring 2021, the Graduate Liberal Studies Program is celebrating its 30th anniversary! It’s been an exciting 30 years and we, at SFU, are grateful for the hard work of many students and alumni to make this happen!

Although the plans to celebrate with a series of in-person alumni events and dinners have been put on a hold for now due to COVID-19, we are excited to launch an anniversary series of engagements to celebrate students and alumni achievements! Join our feature stories and upcoming celebratory online events on the newly launched GLS 30th Anniversary webpage.

Today’s GLS students are like many others living through a prolonged pandemic. Some are suffering financial stress due to job losses or layoffs. In 2020, we had to work hard to divide up our limited studesnt aid funds to keep some students enrolled in courses. In recognition of the SFU GLS 30th Anniversary we are seeking to enhance the endowments that support our various Awards for GLS students in need.

You can contribute to one or more of the following endowments that produce annual awards to GLS students working toward their MALS degrees:

Donate to the Ewan Clark Memorial Endowment
This award recognizes and provides financial assistance to an artist, musician, writer or actor enrolled full-time in the GLS program.

Donate to the L.R. (Bunny) Wright Memorial Endowment
This scholarship is awarded to exceptional students in the GLS program.

Donate to the Stephen Duguid Endowment (Jean-Jacques Rousseau Award)
This award supports outstanding students in the GLS program.

Your donation today will help provide support to students in need and recognize outstanding students in the GLS program.
